Master Sutherlands Blackbelt Academy Annual Awards.
This was the academy's 3rd annual awards and the event just keeps on getting more successful. A full house was in place at the Three Kings Hotel, Sheildhill where a host of awards were presented to the successful students.
The evening commenced with a piper and then meals served before the awards started. As usual the awards were handed out by the guests, which were, Master Dosoo VII degree, Mr Dunbar VI degree, Mr Gillmor V degree as well as the directors of Livingston based kids activity centre TumbleZone.
After the awards a successful raffle and auction helped raise over £800, which will help subsidise the students forthcoming competition, ITF European Championship in Poland. There was also a few surprises, Mr Denholm V degree, presented Master Sutherland with a bouquet of flowers to commemorate her achieving the rank of VIII degree and becoming the first female VIII degree in the world. Then Mr Dunbar presented Master Sutherland with a collection of swords on behalf of all the instructors in the north of Scotland.
